Polyester cord with a loop every 12 mm, locked with a peg. Three standard cords, on rolls of 20 to 50 m or in a 200 to 250 m box depending on the cord, and ready-cut tie-up sets for the most common looms.
Texsolv U-cord is polyester, machine-crocheted in two parallel rows that are joined at regular intervals to form a continuous chain of small loops, or button-holes. A peg through any loop locks the cord in place. That is the whole idea, and it replaces every knot on the loom: tie-ups, shaft connections, lamms, treadles, counterweights, beam aprons.
Because the loops are evenly spaced, an adjustment is always a whole number of loops. Move a peg one loop and the cord is exactly 12 mm shorter. Do the same on the other side of the loom and the shafts stay level. No knots to retie, no stretch to chase, and a tie-up that took an afternoon now takes minutes.

U-cord is sold on rolls of 20 or 50 m (1/12), 50 m (1/12 3-thread) and 28 or 40 m (1/20), and in a cardboard dispenser box of 200 to 250 m depending on the cord, and in white, black, blue, yellow and orange. Standard tie-ups are white; a second colour is handy for telling upper and lower lamm cords apart on a countermarch.

Measure the distance between the parts to be connected, add what the connection needs, try one cord, then cut the rest between loops and fuse the ends in a flame.
