Connections F to I are adjustable: lengthen or shorten by moving the peg to another hole, as I and J show. This is the heart of the system. Every shed and every treadle is set in 12 mm steps.
Because each loop is exactly 12 mm from the next, an adjustment made on the left of the loom can be repeated exactly on the right by counting loops. Level shafts, an even shed and equal treadle depth become a matter of counting rather than measuring.
