Harness holders

Harness holders carry the shafts while the loom is being threaded or tied up: a notched bar hangs from the top of the loom on two cords, and the shaft bars rest in the notches, so every shaft hangs level and at the same height (figure 11).

At one end the cord is fixed to the holder with a permanent connection (B); at the other it is locked with an adjustable connection (G), so the holder is levelled by moving a peg, and raised or lowered one loop at a time.
