Marked holes
Mark the anchor hole of a Texsolv cord that is often detached, so it goes back to exactly the same hole every time.

Cords which are repeatedly detached can have the anchor point permanently marked with a felt-tipped pen, to permit quick re-attachment at the same hole. Figure 7 shows an example.
Mark the loop the peg sits in, and the cord goes back to exactly the same length every time, without measuring or counting loops. Beam cords and apron cords, which come off every time the loom is dressed, are the obvious candidates.
